Programs and Curriculum

At the Montessori School of Lisle - in Naperville we understand that choosing your child’s preschool is a very important decision. We have designed our programs to meet the needs of the child, the family and the community.

Half-Day Preschool and Kindergarten

During our 36-year history, we have carefully constructed a program to entice, engage and challenge the 3 to 6 year old child. Teachers are trained to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each child with sensitivity toward cultural and language distinctions. Emphasis is placed on academic excellence, personal strengths, and potential, and the development of self-confidence and social competency. Morning and afternoon classes are available, 3 to 5 days per week. You may choose either a 3-hour or a 4-½ hour program and whichever days you prefer. Optional Summer Enrichment Programs are available.

All Day Preschool and Kindergarten

In an environment prepared for your child’s physical and emotional well-being, a dedicated and carefully trained staff nurtures and cares for your child with programs tailored to meet their specific needs. The morning is devoted to individualized academic instruction with attention to different learning styles. The afternoon focuses on social development through creative and cooperative play. We are open 6:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. year-round. All Day schedules vary from 6 to 11 ½ hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week.

Both Half Day and All Day Programs include:

· Full Montessori Curriculum

· Advanced Math and Reading

· Music and Art Appreciation

· Introduction to Foreign Language

· Cultural Awareness and Appreciation

· Field Trips and Enrichment Programs

Summer Enrichment Program

The academics of the Montessori curriculum are a year-round feature in both our All Day and Half Day Programs, but summer adds a whole new environment. We take Montessori outside to our extensive playground in a beautiful rural setting. There the children enjoy sand activities under tall shade trees, bikes and scooters and park-quality play equipment. Our specialized summer programs include: Gardening and Nutrition; Science and Nature Study; and our Montessori Summer Olympics. Tailored summer schedules are offered to both Half Day and All Day classes.
